Workshop on "Fundamentals of Biomedical Instrumentation & Signal Processing using MATLAB"

Department of Biomedical Engineering recently organized One day workshop on "Fundamentals of Biomedical Instrumentation & Signal processing using MATLAB" on 20/02/2017, Monday. The participants were approximately 45 final year students of Diploma in Biomedical Engineering from Government Polytechnic Gandhinagar accompanied by their two faculties Prof. Maitri H. Dave & Prof. Rahulsinh B. Chauhan.

The first session of workshop was conducted by Prof. Himanshu A. Patel, HOD BM Department on Therapeutic Instruments with main focus on Fundamentals of Heart lung Machine, Dialyser, Defibrillator, Surgical Diathermy and many more.

The second session of workshop was conducted by Prof. Tejas V. Bhatt and Prof. Raksha K. Patel, Asst. Prof. BM Department on Fundamental of various Diagnostic Instruments with main focus on Multi paramonitor, Spirometer, TMT - ECG system and many more.

The last session of workshop was conducted by Prof. Manan M. Nanavati, Asst. Prof. BM Department on Fundamentals of Signal Processing using MATLAB with main focus on basics of Sampling theorem, Aliasing & Reconstruction, Convolution & Correlation, DFT/FFT analysis, basics of filter design for ECG signal

The valedictory session of the workshop was graced by presence of Dr. Kiran R. Amin, Principal, UVPCE and words of wisdom were shared by Hon. Principal, UVPCE and Respected Head of Department, Biomedical Engineering.
