“ To Choose Mechatronics Engineering was the best decision that I have taken so far”
I just had finished my 12th from Maharashtra state Board and it was the time to choose what I always wanted to learn. I was always fascinated towards the Robots and automation systems since childhood and hence I was determined to pursue Mechatronics engineering after googling tens of Mechatronics engineering colleges in India and visiting a couple of them I decided to select Ganpat University for my B.tech Mechatronics course. When I look back to that day I couldn’t have asked for more than what my graduation journey at Ganpat university has offered me.
The 4 years of my graduation journey has been extraordinary. I not only ranked in my class academics but also invested most of my time in extracurricular activities. All these years at Gnu have been pretty rewarding for me and I made good memories during the college. I started and tried a bunch of start-ups in these years some of them failed but few of them got recognised by the government of Gujarat and different organisations.
I built hundreds of projects in this journey some were for fun, some were bit serious and received awards from government, university and college, few of them received funding of 1.5 lakh from the government of Gujarat and prize money of 5 lakh rupees. And for one of the projects I published my research patent.
In my first year, I invested most of the time in learning new technology, understanding concepts of Mechatronics and exploring robotics. I built mind control robot and line follower robots. I also got selected in university’s robocon team where we built disk throwing robot which secured 21st position in all over India ABU robocon 2017 competition.
In my 2nd year, I developed, built and launched my new website called “Foundlost.xyz” for reporting and finding the lost items across the university campus. This startup website idea also got recognition from the startup India yatra competition where I got selected as one of the finalists for finals at IIM Ahmedabad . I also started my home automation start-up “crack robotics” for which I won 3rd price at sparks national-level innovation competition. This early success helped boost-start my entrepreneurial journey.
In my 3rd year of engineering, I built an helio-x project under which we developed and sent the fully automatic drone ship in the stratosphere approx 20 km above the ground. We even received incubation from the SSIP Ahmedabad for this project. The same year I built, developed and launched the friend-finding website “Kindof.in”. Where you can find the friends which matche your interests. I received the university’s highest student achievement award “Director general award ” for my exceptional performance in academics and extracurricular activities. I received the internship at the Bangalore based company Soil Agritech pvt.ltd where I worked on many IoT projects and gained industrial experience.
My last year of engineering was the most fruitful of all. I built the infy robot which takes voice commands and can perform almost any household chores. It would serve as a home companion robot. For this project I won 1st price at project presentation competition in UVPCE Convergence. Infy the social robot also got selected for the semi-finals of IICDC Competition organised by the texas instruments. Texas instruments provided us electronics equipments of worth $200 to complete this project. In this year I received the funding of 50k and 1 Lakh from Gujarat council on science and technology for developing guitar playing robot. The guitar playing robot won 1st price of 5Lakh rupees at Robofest competition 2019 organised by the Gujcost Gandhinagar.
I represented Ganpat university at national level Anveshan for project Box-it . Box-it project helps MSME’s to track the inventory. Box-it project won the 3rd price in west zone Anveshan at Mumbai in the Engineering and Technology department. I published my patent for box-it in Indian patent journal 2020. Meanwhile, I received the job offer from the tata consultancy service after cracking TCS NQT followed by the Interview.
I flew to Gujarat from Maharashtra for my studies. When I first landed in Gujarat I didn’t know anything about Gujarat but Gujarat and Ganpat University has never treated me as an outsider and now it is almost a second home to me.
