UVPCE01, a team from GNU-UVPCE, Ganpat University has secured up 2nd runners prize at the Smart India Hackathon 2018 (World’s largest Hackathon). They have been rewarded a cash prize of Rs.50000 and Medals in this 36hours coding and app development competition. Also they will have a chance to deploy their android application in a real-time environment . The team comprised of 6 members from B.Tech Sem-VI (CE) namely, Patel Adeetya, Isha Vankineni, Heli Patel, Vrinda Bhatt, Harsh Patel and Umang Desai; worked under the mentorship of Prof. Prashant Modi (IT dept.). Event was held at Girijananda Chaudhry Institute (Guwahati) on 30th- 31st March 2018 for continuous 36 hours.
The competition constituted three rounds of thorough and fierce unrelentless questioning from three distinct set of judges and provision of different insights from their perspective. The students were completely dedicated and fully devoted to their computers for 36 hours and produced the concluded application. Then, approached the final round of power presentation where the teams had to sell their application to the jury in a meager time of 3 minutes and later was the result determined. The dedication of the team paid off as they were declared the 2nd runners up for their innovative idea and their straightforward approach.
