An “Innovative Project Idea Competition – 2014” was organized by the U. V. Patel College of Engineering for the student of UVPCE and coordinated by the Dr. Bhavesh P. Patel (Asso. Prof., ME) and Prof. Hiren Prajapati (Asst. Prof., ME) under the guidanceof Dr. Paresh H. Shah, Principal of U. V. Patel College of Engineering during 25th to 27th September 2014.
The event was started on 31stAugust 2014. The deadline for registration form was 5thSeptember 2014. The deadline for final submission of project idea was 20th September 2014 and date of event and exhibition was 25thto 27th September 2014. Total 86 project ideas were registered as initial registration. Out of 86 project ideas finally 64 project ideas were submitted by the students and 64 projects ideas were presented by student in exhibition.
The exhibition of “Innovative Project Idea Competition-2014” was opened by Dr. Mahindra Sharma, Vice Chancellor, Ganpat University, in the presence of Principal of UVPCE, all HODs of respective departments, faculty members and students. There were three members in the external jury committee namely Dr. B. S.Munjal (Sr. Scientist, ISRO), Dr. D. J. Shah (Director Shruj LED Technologies, Ahmedabad), and ShriAshotoshJani(Volun Teacher, AIREP).
The final evaluation process completed by jury members and finalized the 3 (three) ideas as 1st, 2nd and 3rd rank and 16 (Sixteen) ideas were selected for funding to develop a prototype of projects including first three ranks of project ideas.
Finally, award ceremony program was conducted on 27th September 2014, from 4.00 pm to 5.00 pm and announced the name of winner teams of innovative projects with attractive price money of Rs. 7000/- to 1st rank, Rs. 5000/- to 2nd rank, Rs. 3000/- to 3rd rank and certificates were distributed to the students with blessings of the external committee members and principal of UVPCE.
Shri Parag Taktawala (Last year IPIC-2103 External Jury Member), MD of Zenn Systems, Ahmedabad has awarded the price money of Rs. 11000/- to the project idea team who had completed his project first within time limit provided by the institute among the selected innovative project ideas for funding. The price money goes to the team number IPIC-048 (Four direction moving car).
The selected innovative project ideas will be completed by students under the guidance of respective departmental faculty member/members with under observation of respective departmental head. The students will prepare a proposal for getting fund for prototype development of their projects along with detail description of their proposed project, outline of project work and approximate costing of the proposed project. The prepared proposal will be submitted to the event coordinate for further procedure.
