On the auspicious morning of 31st January, 2019, hordes of inquisitive students of various constituent institutes of Ganpat University, eagerly awaiting to learn about Pearson Test of English (PTE) and aspiring to get into foreign education, flocked in the premises of Shri S. K. Patel College of Pharmaceutical Education and Research, Ganpat University. The mission was to spread awareness among them on Pearson Test of English (PTE). The move came in the wake of partial fulfillment of the long-standing demand of starting a state-of-art in-house professional coaching centre for various international language exams to cater to the need of the students. Inspired by the philosophy of creating global identity, the university has taken its first firm step in the form of starting PTE coaching centre within the education campus of Ganpat University.
The far-reaching vision of President Shri Ganpatbhai Patel, Director General Dr. Mahendra Sharma and his competent team comprising Registrar Dr. Amit Patel and Head of International Alliances Dr. Rajen Purohit anticipated the need of having a professional coaching centre for various language exams within the campus and their motivation played a pivotal role in making that dream a reality.
The PTE Student Awareness Seminar was planned from 10:00 to 11:00 am on Thursday, Jan. 31, 2019 which was followed by two days’ rigorous training to the faculty of English on PTE so as to enable them provide efficient and result oriented coaching to the students in the time to come. Strong planning and excellent co-ordination became a key to the success of the seminar and training programme. The class to class and student to student campaign of entire English Faculty Team yielded promising result in the form of overwhelming response to the seminar in which 225+ keen students participated enthusiastically, much against the expectations and got accurate answers to their baffling queries and got clarity on how and why PTE is a better option compared to other language exams. This was over and above the students who could not be accommodated due to space constraints and they too were assured of a second round of the seminar soon.
The seminar commenced with a formal introduction of the speakers by Dr. Usha Kaushik amid overwhelming and heartfelt welcome of the guests, namely Mr. Asifhameed Bhat (Business Manager, PTE Gujarat) and Ms. Priyank Chabbra (The Core Trainer, PTE India). Mr. Aasif shed light over several key aspects of PTE and tried to inculcate why it is a better option to the other global English language competency exams. A lucid explanation of the key characteristics convinced the students immensely. While Mr. Asif acquainted the students with the overall structure, Ms. Priyank Chhabra came to the forefront and covered some unexplored facets of PTE pleasingly to insist and prove that PTE is easier for the students to crack owing to its manifold advantages and hassle-free operation. In the concluding segment of the seminar, students presented their queries that were addressed patiently to the best of their satisfaction. At last, the students were convinced that PTE can certainly garner desired results with minimum efforts on the students’ part, unlike other language tests. Prof. Unnat Patel (Co-ordinator) expressed a gesture of gratitude to the speakers and to everyone that contributed directly or indirectly in making the event successful.
The seminar was followed by a comprehensive training of 4 informative sessions split over 2 days for the faculty of English in which the master trainer Ms. Priyank explained every minute detail of all the modules of PTE and shared the highly useful tips and tricks to help the students secure robust score in PTE. All the training sessions were attended by the faculty of English enthusiastically and they were tremendously benefited.
