I wish you all very Happy and Prosperous New Year.
With this we are launching E-Letter to Alumni of U V Patel College of Engineering. Presently this letter will be aperiodical to keep you informed about our activities and newsworthy events at Ganpat Vidyanagar.You make the news; we record and report it to the whole fraternity of UVPians ( the coinage of this term for past and present students of U V Patel College of Engineering is only provisional and you are invited to give your suggestions).
‘Alumni’ defines the bond with the Institute from which one has graduated. The Institute is the Alma Mater. Alma Mater significantly means ‘fostering mother’ in Latin. It indeed has the attributes of mother in moulding the development of a student in terms of Ability, Learning, Merit, Attitude along with Manners, Aptitude, Teamwork, Excellence in pursuits and Resourcefulness. While at the Institute, these are inculcated by the manifest situations and also through opportunities made available.
In retrospect, we seldom try to analyze the inputs of Alma Mater. Very rightly we acknowledge the nurturing in totality, which has made us worthy and competent professionals in the world of work. Our gratefulness to the Alma Mater need not be expressed in words, as the words would be found wanting in fully and satisfactorily conveying the depth and sincerity of our gratitude.
As you march along in career and achievements, you add on emotional relationships with individuals and institutions or place of work. My only request to you is not to marginalize your affection and regard for U V Patel College of Engineering. In fact it continuously expects you to put its name on national and international maps. Its height and dignity depend on you. The responsibility squarely rests on your shoulders.
